This Privacy Policy & Collection Notice (“Collection Notice”) explains how the Institute collects, uses, discloses, and safeguards the Personal Information that users of the App (“you”) provide to us.

The Privacy Policy explains the types of personal information that we collect and use for the purpose of improving the health of individuals and populations. It also provides general information about your privacy rights, along with our general rights and obligations.

This Collection Notice and Privacy Policy may be amended from time to time.

By visiting or using our App, you agree to our collection and use of information as set out in this Collection Notice. We will not use or share your information with anyone except as described in this Collection Notice and the Privacy Policy.

What information do we collect through the App?

We collect different kinds of information through the App. Some of it is personally identifiable and some is non-identifying or aggregated.

Here are the types of information we collect or receive:

Account information

When you first download and open the App, an anonymous account is created for you. You can use the App without providing any personal information.

If you choose to, you can create an account, and enter some information about your children to enable tailored recommendations and multi-device syncing. If you do so, you’ll provide us with personal information, which will be stored by us or our third party service providers, and managed in accordance with the Privacy Policy.

Google and iOS Analytics log data

Whenever you use the App, we collect data and information (through third party products) on your phone called log data. We use Google and iOS Analytics log data to obtain:

• Device information. This is information about the device and software on which you’re using the App.
• App usage information. This is information about the number of times the App is launched, session duration, and events (this means the number of times a button is tapped, or the number of times a screen is viewed).

Data about your use of the App

In addition to optional personal information which you may choose to provide, we collect data about your use of the App. This helps us improve the App and monitor its performance. We will not combine or link this data with personally identifiable information we might hold on you (if you choose to provide it).

How we use your information

We use your information for the following:

• Synchronising your App. By creating an account, you can use the App on multiple devices, and keep your activities, progress, input and achievements in sync.
• Enabling personalisation. By entering information about your child or children (such as their age), the App can provide you with tailored recommendations.
• Improving the App. Understanding how users use the App helps us to improve the App, and ensure it is meeting users’ needs.
• Helping with technical difficulties. If you contact us with a technical problem or question, we will use your information to respond to that query and to try to address your problem.
• Communicating with you. If you have told us that you would like to be involved in a current research project, we may reach out to you to discuss this further. The Privacy Policy has more information on the way the Institute uses information collected as part of research projects.

Please note that this Collection Notice or the Privacy Policy is not intended to place any limits on what the Institute does with usage data that is aggregated or de-identified so it is no longer tied to an App user.

The information we collect on you is stored by us or our third party service providers, and managed in accordance with the Privacy Policy

The App may contain links to external Internet sites. These external websites are outside of the Institute s control. Please review the privacy policies of these websites. The Institute assumes no responsibility, for the content, privacy policies, or practices of any third-party sites or services.

Complaints

If you have a complaint or inquiry about the way in which we have handled any privacy issue, please contact us using the details below. We will use reasonable efforts to deal promptly with complaints and inquiries and, in any event, acknowledge your complaint within 30 days.
